It was great to catch up with old friends on the Gower before winding our way up north to the LLyn Peninsula. PJ, Guts, Toots and Cocker were all stoked to see us and us them. Guts and Connor did a photo shoot outside the van for his latest quiver for his sponsers and then we got a pic of him and Ocean for posterity.

Some small but great Gennith waves gave a taste for the surf to come. A few days later we stopped over at Shell Island so Katie could revisit her childhood running down the dunes.
Hells Mouth surf was’nt what I’d call offshore classic this year but nonetheless Donnys was going off its nuts at clean head high plus on several days. Wednesday early August had a great low tide session giving Donny 14 back to back shoulder high long rides to make it all worthwhile, while the next Tuesday big session produced some mean looking waves at high tide and 7 guys out off the point at Fishermans, getting a rare summer session on the Tre Heli reef.
Ocean got his feet wet at just over 8 weeks old but no one would let Donny take him out on the board! No but seriously it was only for a little ankle snapper. Anyway Ocean got his first rides on a longboard skate and Katie was well stoked with all of it. We sold all our boards again and had a great run on UK2K A New Wave Rising, which is experiecing quite a lot of revived popularity right now.
We saw a lot of friends and made several new ones, and despite the less than wonderful weather it was a real wrench to tear ourselves away from The Mouth
