Autumn Hells Mouth run

So we’ve just been up to Hells Mouth, possibly for the last time this year, to check on the place and meet up with a few friends.  Amazing few days with calm followed by the storm.  We got to see a pod of dolphins out in the Bay for the first time in a long time and then, in the same spot, got to lean against the wind the next day and watch the waves pound the shoreline.

Spot the marine mammal!

Down at the Middle the wind, tide and waves had conspired to cover the beach in spume making it look like it had been snowing.

Surging waves brought more foam onto the beach.

It was an amazing sight but hard not to question how natural this phenomenon is, especially when you see the wonderful array of colours in the foam, looking so similar to that of washing up liquid!
