Van Life revisited

Back in 1997 and the dawning of Still Stoked Lifestyle, everything revolved around the concept of cheap living, having fun, surfing and longboard skating. So where are we today with Van Life?

After Old Red and then Mole and then Llangennith and Rainbow Donny Wright and Katie headed back to the Forest of Dean, where Van Life all started. Old Red had been marooned at Hell's Mouth by the cliff top since 2001 and still languishes there, serving as a 'surfers hole' and surf cabin. In 2005 Rainbow went to a new home in Sussex where Lauren wanted something cool to live in for Uni. Donny and Katie moved into a small house in the Forest of Dean!

Tom Wright moved on in 2006 from the caravan at LittleDean where it all started. Moving with Nadia to Cornwall and away from 8 years of bore riding, bringing the Severn bore to the world through boreriders.com Tom now enjoys dawnies and powerful waves.

So what's going on in Donny Wright's world? Answer - the next phase of van life, fried chestnuts sealed in fried eggs on toast, cool autumn days and woodland fires, garden restorations and building a new place. Right now Katie and Donny are getting together an 18 foot towing van of reasonably modern vintage from which they will be living for the next couple of years. You can bet your life the resale value will disappear out the door as they customise it to a suitably hippie persona.

The recipe book and story pages will be updated soon at Still Stoked to evoke the past and present years.
